Outside body
Open Spaces, City Gardens & West Ham Park Committee (formerly known as West Ham Park Committee of Managers)
Description

The Open Spaces, City Garden’s and West Ham Park Committee has been created to act as the overarching policy and strategic body in relation to the activities of the Open Spaces Department. It is also responsible for the day to day management of the gardens, churchyards and Open Spaces in the City under the control of the Common Council, together with Bunhill Fields Burial Ground.
This Committee is responsible for West Ham Park, the first open space to be purchased by the City of London (in 1874) and of such significance that is on the National Register of Historic Parks. As well as its immaculate lawns and gardens, the Park offers a wide range of sporting activities, such as the popular summer cricket coaching clinic, for the enjoyment of people of all ages.
