Members of the Licensing (2003 Act) Sub-Committee were asked to consider and determine an application for a new premises licence for:

 

Unit A2, 107 High Street, Stratford, E15 2QQ

 

and any valid representations that had been made.

 

Mr Colin Hunt presented the report and informed the Sub-Committee that an application for a time limited premises licence had been received by the Licensing Authority on 7 March 2012 valid from 1 March 2012 (subject to the grant of the licence) to 31 January 2014.  The application was for:

 

Provision of plays (indoors)

 

  • Monday to Thursday: 12.00 hours noon to 00:00hours midnight
  • Friday to Sunday: 12.00 hours noon to 01.00 hours the following day.

 

Provision of Films (indoors)

 

  • Monday to Thursday: 12.00 hours noon to 01:00hours the following day;
  • Friday to Sunday: 12.00 hours noon to 05.00 hours the following day.

 

Provision of live music (indoors)

 

  • Monday to Thursday: 12.00 hours noon to 01:00hours the following day;
  • Friday to Sunday: 12.00 hours noon to 05.00 hours the following day.


Provision of recorded music (indoors)

 

  • Monday to Thursday: 12.00 hours noon to 01:00 hours the following day;
  • Friday to Sunday: 12.00 hours noon to 05.00 hours the following day.

 

Provision of facilities for dancing (indoors)

 

  • Monday to Thursday: 12.00 hours noon to 01:00 hours the following day;
  • Friday to Sunday: 12.00 hours noon to 05.00 hours the following day.

 

Late night refreshment

 

  • Monday to Thursday: 23:00 hours to 01:00 hours the following day;
  • Friday to Sunday: 23:00 hours to 05.00 hours the following day.

 

Supply of alcohol (on premises only)

 

  • Monday to Thursday: 12.00 hours noon to 01:00 hours the following day;
  • Friday to Sunday: 12.00 hours noon to 05.00 hours the following day.

 

Mr Hunt outlined the representations that had been received in respect of the application and the premises history.  Mr Hunt informed the Sub-Committee that the Police had submitted representations in respect of the application that were withdrawn shortly prior to the publication of papers.  Mr Hunt said that, following an event on 19 May at the premises at which the Police were required to be present, the Police had expressed their wish to resubmit their representations.

 

PC Karl Turton, on behalf of the Metropolitan Police, said that the Police had been called to an event running at the premises on the night of 19 May, at which approximately 150 people had been present.  PC Turton said no-one at the event was arrested and that the event had continued with music continuing at a lower noise level.
